Check out our FREE "DE ACUERDO - DESACUERDO JUEGO DE DEBATE" customizable speaking game you'll get your students talking right away. I have used this activity with teens and adults in online/ face2face classes. It is a great icebreaker or debate activity if you are working on 'EXPRESAR OPINIONES" OR "DEBATE".

TEACHER NOTES:

Use this game as a warm-up or an ice-breaker.

The level of the students should be at least B1. (ELE - ESPAÑOL - SSL)

VARIATIONS:

•Small Groups: Get students in small groups (3-5). Have them

read the statements on the slide and discuss whether they agree

or disagree. Depending on their English level, encourage the

use of phrases to state their opinion and arguments to back up

their decision. You can also pre-teach some of this vocabulary.

•Moving around the classroom: Select three areas in the classroom

and assign them one response (Estoy de acuerdo, no estoy seguro... /no sé... , Estoy en desacuerdo ) read a statement and ask students to stand on the side according

to their opinion. You can also add more lines as in the original activity.

This activity was inspired by the Spectrum videos by Jubilee.

Hunger Games Trilogy March Madness Tournament Creative Activity

Have your students fill out brackets for the characters in The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and/or Mockingjay to inspire creative-thinking and lively discussions!

The download contains three templates for each novel, character lists for each novel, and one filled-in seeding for the characters from all three novels (not all were used). Students can argue who would win or seed the characters themselves. (Do not use the filled-in one for students who have not read all three books!)

Great for bulletin board displays, exit slips, bell-ringers, or an extra-credit enrichment activity.

You can also download my blank literature or historical figure brackets to use with ANY book, short story, or history lesson.
