FREE MATH LESSON - “2 Facts Digital Multiplication Program”

by Ashleigh
3rd - 5th Grade

As an elementary math teacher, multiplication facts have always been a source of concern. A deep understanding of multiplication is essential for students, but there is also a need for memorization of multiplication facts.

Many existing online programs create unnecessary stress for students. Several children, especially the ones who struggle with memorization and/or anxiety, appear to become frustrated by the timed aspect of the quizzes.

Some of these programs do not provide the support needed for struggling students, even with ample practice time in class. While all students can certainly learn and improve, some students may need alternative strategies and approaches, rather than solely focusing on memorization.

This digital multiplication program provides an alternative solution. It can be used along with any of your favorite existing resources or math curriculum. How you implement this program will depend on your students and their needs.

This program is broken into 5 parts. Each day of the week students will complete a different task based on the math facts they are currently practicing.

This free resource includes a link to the digital program for the 2 facts. The complete program can be accessed here.

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “FREEBIE - Nonsense CVC Words ‘I have, Who has?’ Cards”

by Bees Knees
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

Nonsense words are SUPER FUN and so beneficial for early readers!! Do you use them in your classroom??

Why read Nonsense words??

Fluent decoding is the ability to quickly sound out and blend letter sounds to read words. When students read words, it is often challenging to establish if they are decoding or simply recalling from memory. When using nonsense words, children cannot guess or memorise and therefore have to rely on their decoding skills to read the words.

These FREE attractive, bright and fun Alien "I have...Who has?" cards are the perfect way to develop your students' decoding skills and increase their fluency when reading CVC words. This simple game would be a perfect introductory hook to a Literacy or Reading lesson or it could be used as an activity with smaller groups of children to assess their decoding skills. Children will love the fun Alien names and images.

The pack includes 18 Loopcards. Simply print, cut up and play!
