Social Skills Sampler Freebie

This Social Skills Sampler Freebie contains a variety of social skill cards that are fun, and target areas that are challenging for many of our students with social pragmatic difficulties: body language, facial expression, identifying feelings, problem solving and role-playing.

To use these cards, simply print, laminate (if desired) and cut apart. These are fun to use in small groups, and can even be used with whole classes during morning meeting, circle time, or during transitions.

Silly Icebreaker Questions

This easy to use, super low prep question set is versatile and great to use to work on conversational skills, turn taking, respectful listening, giving reasons for opinions, learning how to agree to disagree and more.

I like to use these questions to focus on conversational turn-taking and social skills with my students in 1:1 sessions with me and in small group activities. Many of my students have difficulty showing interest when others are speaking, using conversational fillers, taking turns in conversation, asking follow-up questions, maintaining topic, and learning how to respectfully listen to others who may have a different opinion. These questions, were originally designed for addressing these social skills, however, this product is versatile and can also be used as simple conversational icebreaker questions for small group and classroom use. These are also great for simple writing assignments or journal prompts.

• 40 Silly Icebreaker questions in color format (b/w easy print option also provided)

• To prepare this product for use, simply print either the color or B/W version of the cards, cut apart, and laminate if desired.

The holiday season is always a test of social skills for all of us. This set is appropriate for Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa and addresses family meals and parties, gift giving and more. It is also a time when we need to be polite, socially appropriate and friendly with family and friends. This set includes social language task cards that target solving common problems, sticking to the topic when talking with others and some fun cards that challenge students to act things out while focusing on facial expressions and body language for common winter holiday activities.

To use, simply print out the cards, cut them apart and laminate them if you wish.

Set contains: 18 “pretend” cards (to act out), 18 problem solving cards, and 12 “talk about it” cards
