FREE MATH LESSON - “Holiday (Christmas) Shopping Math Activities: Rounding, Estimation, Percent”

These are versions of fun, holiday shopping math activities for students who are learning about rounding, estimation, and percent (sales tax). The first activity is easier and includes practice with rounding and estimation. The second one is more difficult and includes practice with determining sales tax and total cost of an item. Both activities can be used in one class if differentiation is a goal or if students are able to do both. They could also be used in a math center.

These are authentic activities because the activities are real world situations.

You will need to have store advertisements available (either paper or electronic online versions).
