FREE MISC. LESSON - “Teacher Positive Affirmation and Growth Mindset Cards FREEBIE”

by Ratelis Science
Pre-Kindergarten - 12th Grade

This is a set of 16 positive statements to affirm the work that teachers and educators do every day. Statements promote a positive, growth mindset for educators. Can be used for a Sunshine Club, a Smiles Club or other teacher positive culture support clubs and groups. They work well as cards to put into mailboxes, and as tags for small tokens/gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week or any time

This was developed to be a double-sided card that could be printed, trimmed to approximately 5.25 by 4.125 inches, and used as cards to put in staff mailboxes for Teacher Appreciation Week.

I print out these cards onto card stock before cutting apart and select double-sided printing for my printer. If your printer does NOT do double-sided printing, I would then use the print selected pages option and print pages “4,6,8,10”

Contains

Cover, TOU and Directions for Printing/use (2 pages)

Cards for Double-Sided Printing (8 pages) 4 designs per page, 16 different designs total

For personal classroom use only. Not for Commercial Use.

Introducing April Fool's Day!

Image item

With April Fools' Day just around the corner, I wanted to share some simple yet delightful activities that you can incorporate into your classroom to celebrate this special day of playful mischief with your students. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Introduction to April Fools' Day
Start by explaining what April Fools' Day is all about. Begin by discussing the significance of April Fools' Day with your students. Keep it light-hearted and fun!. It's a day when people play tricks on each other for fun!  You can explain that it's a day when people play harmless pranks and jokes on each other to bring smiles and laughter.

Story Time
Choose a children's book about April Fools' Day to read aloud to the class. Select a book with silly characters and funny situations that will capture the students' imaginations.  After reading, ask the students to share their favorite parts of the story or any ideas they have for pranks.

Prank Planning
Let's get creative with some playful pranks! Brainstorm prank ideas together as a class and discuss the importance of playing pranks that are safe and respectful. Encourage the students to come up with imaginative and funny tricks to play on each other.  Make sure they understand the importance of keeping the pranks safe and respectful.

Prank Execution
Set aside some time during the day for the students to play their pranks on each other (and maybe even on you!). Make sure everyone understands the rules and guidelines for playing pranks in a fun and respectful manner. It's all about spreading laughter and joy!  Keep it light-hearted and ensure that everyone is having fun. Remind them that the goal is to make each other laugh, not to upset anyone.

Prank Reveal
After the pranks have been played, gather the class together to share their favorite pranks and reactions. Encourage laughter and good sportsmanship as everyone reflects on the day's playful antics.

Treat Time
Wrap up the day with a special treat for the class. You can serve something delicious like cookies, cupcakes, or popcorn to celebrate the fun-filled day of pranks and laughter.
.
I hope these ideas help make April Fools' Day a memorable and enjoyable experience for your students. Wishing you and your class a day filled with laughter, joy, and playful mischief!

Have a great week
Lori

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Two No-Prep Lesson Plans or Sub Plans for "The Pedestrian," by Ray Bradbury”

by Write with a Point
7th - 10th Grade

If Ray Bradbury isn't the most frequently taught author in ELA classes, he's high on the list. So why stop with just one of his short stories? Teach "The Pedestrian" with his more famous work, "The Veldt," for an engaging two-day lesson plan. Or, if you prefer, pair "The Pedestrian" with Kurt Vonnegut's famous text, "Harrison Bergeron," for an equally exciting study.

Whatever you decide, these free, no-prep lesson plans provide the guidance and questions your students need for an in-depth analysis and comparison. The strategies presented are engaging and adaptable. There's no prep work required. And either lesson would make a great emergency sub plan.

If you'd like, you can view the expanded versions of these plans on my blog. And you can find more free lesson plans at my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
