This is a FREEBIE SAMPLE of my original song and unit that go with “On the 12th Day of December My Teacher Gave to Me…Math and Literacy Centers. If you like the song freebie, please consider purchasing the complete product. The complete product is particularly perfect for math and literacy centers. In that I have provided a poster form to either be used on the overhead projector, or hang up for students to see, and a Teacher Read- Aloud that I like to use to introduce the unit. There is a choice of student booklets, a full- size-page black and white that matches the teacher read-aloud, or a half-page version, whichever works for you. The activities are tried and true in my own classroom as well as my colleagues’! My song, as the original, plays on ordinal and number words, sequencing, repetition... I have added prompts for writing problem-solving stories, and other activities to give our students lots of writing practice, while they are having some fun. It all culminates in the “Snow Globe-shaped writing journal! Also included in the paid unit are vocabulary, number and number word cards, as well as math and writing task cards, sequencing the 12 parts of the song, mixed up sentences, and a labeling activity.
