Language Arts Lesson - "Happy New Year! Year-Round Practice with the Months of the Year"

by Kathryn Garcia
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

What better time of year is there to practice ordering the names of the months than January!  Your little ones have become familiar with September through December with your daily calendar work.  And with a brand new calendar year, it is a perfect time to introduce the 12 months and how they are ordered.

This fun product introduces the months with plain as well as fancy word cards of the months.  Printable pages of writing and cut/paste activities provide more practice.  Then there are 6 seasonal puzzles to practice putting the months in order.

An additional blank puzzle lets kids create their own picture and make it into a puzzle.  Once the activity procedures are understood, this can make a fun language arts center for your little ones to revisit throughout the school year.
