Christmas Language Arts!

Let's keep our students engaged in our ELAR objectives and let them enjoy the holidays at the same time!  

 This is a FREE product designed to help students recognize and remember the difference between plural, possessive, and plural possessive nouns.

This is a set of matching cards for students to determine the meaning of words that have more than one meaning. For example:  

Timmy got a toy train for Christmas.

  We are going to train our new puppy to do tricks.

Students match the sentence card to a card with the underlined word's correct definition.  Great Vocabulary Practice!

This is a set of 20 Christmas spelling words and their plural form.  Also given is a reminder of several different rules used to create the plural form of nouns.  Enjoy!

FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Budburra's Garden - freebie for health and nutrition”

What's terrific about this picture book is that it introduces children to different nutritious foods (fruit and vegetables) according to their colours. It is also terrific to use as a mentor text to reinforce learning about adjectives. 

It introduces students to traditional fruits and vegetables, but also traditional Australian Indigenous foods. The picture book includes information about the bush tucker found in "Budburra's Garden" at the back of the book and recipes to "Colour Yourself Healthy". I really think this is a powerful picture book with potential to be used on many levels.

FREE MATH LESSON - “Dot Marker Shapes - Fire Safety - Stamp Out the Fire! {FREEBIE}”

Dot Marker Shapes - Fire Safety - Stamp Out the Fire! {FREEBIE}

This Fire Safety Dot Marker Shape Activity focuses on identifying shapes. Each page features a large shape made of dots. Students stamp out the fire by dabbing their dot marker (or bingo dauber) around the shape. There are five different shapes: square, rectangle, circle, triangle, and diamond. I am including a rhombus page as an alternate name for diamond.

This is a low-prep activity. Simply print and go. Each page comes in both color and black lines. Laminate color pages and use with a dry erase marker for a dab and wipe activity.

Alternate Idea: You can also cover the dots with small math counters or paly dough.

This Fire Safety Dot Marker Shape Activity is a fun and engaging way to practice key language skills for young learners.
