This resource features an interactive activity to identify and write the value of a digit by its place in a number and a game to reinforce reading and writing whole numbers. This resource can also be used in math centers and with small groups of students.

1. DIGIT VALUE INTERACTIVE
Students write the numbers from the Digit Value Cards onto 4 x three window flaps. They fold back the tabs and write the PLACE VALUE of the underlined digit. Choice of 6 templates on a page or 12 templates on a page.

12 Digit Value Cards. The value of the digit to be determined is underlined and highlighted in red.

Ahoy Matey! Here's a quick and easy following directions activity with a fun pirate theme! Read aloud instructions to students as they follow verbal directions to color the pirate-themed following directions coloring page. As an alternate idea, some teachers have the students read the instructions and follow along to complete the activity.

To use, print multiple copies of the b/w coloring worksheet and then read the 1-2 step directions aloud to your students.

Concepts and vocabulary include a treasure chest, pirate, parrot, bandana, eye patch, coins, telescope, map, coconuts, palm trees, behind, top, bottom, small, and inside.
