FREE MISC. LESSON - “Parent Contact Documentation Form”

Need a quick, easy to use parent contact documentation form? This product is just what you are looking for! This is the parent contact form I use to document all parent contact, whether it is a friendly note home, a quick call to address a behavior problem, or an impromptu meeting with a parent in the hallway. I just print several copies and stick them in my teacher binder. 

I inserted 4 copies each with a different fun font because life is a little more fun with cute fonts, right? ;) Hopefully, this product will save you the time of finding fonts, downloading fonts, and creating the document!

Pick your favorite font and print that page or print them all for a little variety!

This Art History packet by Tried and True Teaching Tools is the perfect complement to teaching about specific artists or art time periods. 

Included in this packet are forms for students to record notes as the teacher shares information from books, online sources, or video clips (or as students research on their own). 

After taking notes, students draw or paint their own picture in the style of the selected artist or time period. Forms include a small picture frame for student’s sample or have the students do their sample on a separate paper and post on a bulletin board next to their Art History form. Save in an art portfolio all year, then bind into an Art History book at the end of the year for each child!

FREE MISC. LESSON - “Classroom Job Cards”

Thank you for downloading my classroom job cards. Incorporating classroom jobs into your daily routine introduces an additional element of excitement and independence to your students’ day. You will notice that some of the more complicated jobs have more than one card so that multiple students can share that job and feel successful completing it as a team. 

Class Jobs Included:

Equipment Manager
Materials Manager
Environmentalist
Recycler
Teacher's Assistant
Germinator
Board Eraser
Pencil Patrol

Librarian

I recommend creating job cards by printing these descriptions on mailing 2”x4” mailing labels and attaching those labels to cardstock or scrapbook paper. One side of the card shows the job title while the other displays details for how to complete the job. These cards can be displayed next to student names on a magnet board or in library pockets on a bulletin board.

FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Let’s Make A Flower!”

Make an adorable flower using the kids’ own handprints for the leaves and the roots. The number of family members decides the number of petals on their flower allowing for a fun math glyph activity. You can also extend this by graphing the colors of the flowers they chose to make. There is a science page where students identify the missing plant parts and draw them in. This will be a perfect addition to your plant unit!

FREE MATH LESSON - “Monsters vs Robots, Math and Literacy Fun Freebie”

This is a 3-page sample of the Monsters vs Robots Mathematics and Literacy Fun Unit that I have just released. The 3 pages are: numbers 1-5, adding numbers and nouns.

Mathematics and Literacy - fun and relevant? You bet, and hopefully this helps. This gorgeous unit of work covers many areas across the CCSS and Australian National Curriculum through 40 high-interest, engaging activity pages.

I trust you are able to make great use of it in your class or home. This unit is designed to look great in both color and grayscale. Some people are able to print in color, or have access to projectors or smartboards - so I wanted to provide for them. Yet, I’m very aware of printing constraints and I’m confident you will be happy with how it looks printed in grayscale if you can’t justify the color version. This unit could be used like a booklet or you could print and use whichever lessons you need. I was also careful to use non-specific UK/US spelling.

The unit is available for purchase now, with updates through August. That allows me to put finishing touches on pages and add more content. When complete, it should be approx. 40 pages of high-interest activities and worksheets. In the meantime - enjoy the sample!

These tournaments work! When comparing my students' California Standards Test scores with me and how they had done the year before, one student went from Far Below Basic in second grade to Below Basic to Basic to Proficient with me in third grade and went up three levels. Three of my students went up two levels. Nine of my students went up one level. Three students stayed in their same level from second grade to third grade (one student was Proficient and stayed Proficient & two students were Advanced and stayed Advanced.) The final student in my class last year did not have a second grade test score, but scored Advanced in my class. I receive similar test scores each year.
