FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Compare and Contrast Using Georgia O'Keeffe and Henri Rousseau”

This is an arts integrated lesson that teaches the concepts compare and contrast. It begins with basic objects and moves the students to use higher order thinking to compare and contrast both the lives and then the art work of Rousseau and O'Keeffe. This lesson also teaches students to use a venn diagram to organize their information. Everything you nee to teach this lesson is included. There is also a step by step lesson plan on the last page of the file. (All background knowledge of the artists are included in the file.) 

Common Core Standards:

RL.2.9. Compare and contrast two or more versions of the same story (e.g., Cinderella stories) by different authors or from different cultures.

RL.3.9. Compare and contrast the themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the same author about the same or similar characters (e.g., in books from a series).

RI.1.3. Describe the connection between two individuals, events, ideas, or pieces of information in a text
