FREE MISC. LESSON - “5 Minutes Left and What Can I Do? : 100 Fun and Challenging Puzzles”

by Mark Aaron
5th - 12th Grade

Thank you for visiting this page! After 30+ years of teaching, these are my absolute favorite classroom-tested time fillers. Every teacher needs to have something ready when a planned lesson ends earlier than anticipated or the kids just need a break at the end of the period.

Some puzzles I have used over the years just do not work well; these all do. What they have in common is that they are challenging, engaging to all students, and effective problem-solving/critical thinking activities.

Need to take a mental health day (or more than one) from your classroom Looking for work for early finishers in English or Math classes? Sick or caring for someone who is sick? Emergency absence have you in a panic? Just need something different and fresh rather than the normal middle grades curriculum? Take a look at my collection of "print and go/no prep" emergency sub plans and creative resources for Grade 5-9 teachers!
