FREE MISC. LESSON - “Thanksgiving Critical Thinking”

by Rockin Resources
3rd - 6th Grade

Thanksgiving Critical Thinking is a great way to encourage a critical thinking conversation and also give you a tool to discuss the true history of Thanksgiving. This photograph was taken from the Library of Congress. Is it a true indication of Thanksgiving? Most of what we have been taught about the history of Thanksgiving is not accurate. This is an opportunity to open a conversation about it.

This activity works well on the smart board for whole group discussion or printed off for group discussion. You will be amazed at how much students will notice, think, and wonder about one illustration.

Notice Think Wonder

1. What do you notice about the illustration?

2. Think deeper.

3. What do you wonder?
