FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Storyboard Writing Graphic Organizer | Story Elements | Plot Diagram”

by The Language of Learning
4th - 7th Grade

WORKS WITH EASEL! --> Looking for a simple and effective tool for helping your students write an amazing story? This 2-page resource walks students through 6 main story boarding steps to writing a great creative story!

STORY ELEMENTS INCLUDED:

  • Title
  • Characters (protagonist and antagonist)
  • Setting
  • Plot
  • Conflict
  • Theme (common themes listed on back)

*Page 2 is a helpful quick reference guide for students explaining all the elements' names and definitions from the worksheet page.

(This resource pairs really well with this video rap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6I24S72Jps)

My students love to just jump into writing without taking adequate time to plan; this resource helps students pause before writing, plan every aspect of their creative story, and then put it all together in a well-written, well-organized work of creative narrative writing.

The definitions on the back side are perfect for writers who quickly forget what they've learned in class and need an extra reminder while pre-writing. I like to print page 2 on neon colored paper as a quick reference sheet throughout the year.

Enjoy!
