Yes and No Questions Kit

This Yes/No Questions Kit contains a variety of materials and a systematic way to target and track progress on answering yes and no questions. Many of my students with significant language disorders and children with autism have difficulty answering yes/no questions. 

Level 1: Targets the most basic yes/no questions related to a child's wants and needs. Suggestions and visuals for yes/no to use in small group or 1:1 instruction and for display throughout the classroom are included.

Level 2: Targets yes/no questions to identify known items. Included in this level are suggestions for implementation as well as possible modifications, visually appealing yes/no question cards, receptive/expressive vocabulary screener and data collection sheets.

Level 3: Targets yes/no questions about general knowledge and opinion. Included in this level are suggestions and ideas for implementation, visual yes/no question cards and data collection sheets.

Pizza Party Social Skills

Pizza Party Social Skills Game

Here's a tasty and fun way to work on social skills! Target problem solving, figurative language, feelings/emotions, facial expressions, body language and role playing all in one fun game activity.

Contents:
*Directions for assembling and playing the game
*6 pizza game mats
*80 small manipulative pieces to use with the game (20 pepperoni pieces, 20 
mushrooms, 20 peppers, 20 bacon pieces)
*96 question cards (24 Problem Solver questions, 24 Figurative Language 
questions, 24 Feelings questions and 24 “Act it Out” questions)
*Dice board (use this visual if playing the game with dice)
*Game spinner

Object of the game: To be the first player to collect all 4 food items for the pizza on his/her game mat.

How to play the game: The first player spins the spinner or rolls the dice. Answer the question type indicated. If you answer correctly, you get to take that type of food and place it on your pizza. If you get more than one of the same type of food during the game, that is okay, just add it to your pizza. The first person to get all four different toppings is the winner.

This Social Skills Sampler Freebie contains a variety of social skill cards that are fun, and target areas that are challenging for many of our students with social pragmatic difficulties: body language, facial expression, identifying feelings, problem solving and role-playing.

To use these cards, simply print, laminate (if desired) and cut apart. These are fun to use in small groups, and can even be used with whole classes during morning meeting, circle time, or during transitions.

Are pencils driving you crazy? Students not having a pencil? Losing them? Breaking the tip? The pencil craze got to me too! It doesn't need to! During my student teaching we had cups with pencils at each group that we sharpened every morning and ensured there were plenty in each cup, which was great! That was in first grade. Over the years, I became use to about 2-3 students per class not having a pencil, therefore, I always purchased a box or two at a time and handed pencils out to those students. This year was a little different for me and the pencil craze got me! So many lost pencils, broken pencil tips, or students just didn't have a pencil. I felt pencil cross eyed! A solution must be found!!! After much thought I came up with my "Pencil Station"!
