Fiction Football Game: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

By: Dianne Mason
Grades 10-12

This exciting, fun-filled game based on the rules of football is perfect for reviewing Fitzgerald's classic novel The Great Gatsby before students write an essay or take an exam. Players are “passed” questions. Yardage is gained based on the difficulty of the question and whether the “receiver” answers correctly. The question cards are divided into 4 categories with varying degrees of difficulty. There are penalties for wrong answers and chances to “intercept” by the opposing teams. For touchdown questions, the team can “huddle” to come up with an answer.
