FREE MISC. LESSON - "Fall Freebie"

by Kathy Babineau
Grades Pre-K - 4

Keep students motivated and engaged with this versatile, easy to use activity. Students can monitor their own progress in a fun, fall-themed format.
This freebie contains:
  • black and white corn on the cob scene mat
  • black and white pumpkin patch scene mat
  • black and white small cut-apart manipulative candy corn and pumpkin pieces
  • photos of an alternate way of using this product using candy
  • credits page
To use this product: print copies of the scene mats and if using the printable manipulatives print/copy those pages as well. Instruct students to prepare small manipulatives by cutting apart the small pieces (they can color them too if you wish). As students answer questions, produce target sounds, contribute to discussion (really whatever you are targeting), allow them to place one candy corn (if using the corn cob scene) or one pumpkin (if using the pumpkin patch scene) per response. Alternatively, if you choose, you can skip the small manipulative pages and use real candy instead. I bought a couple bags of the candy pumpkins and candy corn. It’s your choice. There is lots of flexibility with this product. You can use this in 1:1 tutoring or therapy, in small groups, or in whole class activities. This activity was originally designed for speech therapy, but works equally well for all subjects.
I sincerely hope you and your students enjoy this product! Please let me know what you think by leaving feedback! Happy Fall :)

Vowels: Pumpkin SPLAT! Games (Editable)

Hello!

It's October and that means it's time for.... Pumpkins!

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Vowels-Pumpkin-SPLAT-Bundle-Editable-1486328

SPLAT! is a fun and engaging game.  This version gives students practice with long and short vowels.  SPLAT! is played very similar to slap jack.  Students play one card at a time into the middle pile watching for a match... in this version, rhyming words.  If the words rhyme they SPLAT! (slap) the card pile.  Whoever does it first claims the pile for themselves.  Beware the elusive SPLAT! card... if you play one of those it's a race to SPLAT! the pile and claim it for yourself.

This bundle inlcudes:
Directions for play
CCSS covered
Short Vowel Word Families:
~at, ap, an, ag
~et, en
~ip, it, ig, in
~op, ot, og
~un, ug, ut

Long Vowel Word Families:
~ate, ane, ape, ay, ain
~ea, ee, -e
~ite, ine, ime
~ope, oat, ote, one, ore
~ute, uit, une, oon

~ NEW!!!  Editable pumpkin playing cards where you can add your own words. ~

Click the picture above to grab it from my TpT store.
