FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “Interactive Notebook Letter a”

This is a free sample of my Interactive Alphabet Notebook. It includes 2 front cover options/ set-up directions/ and all of the pages for letter "a". 

Students will practice:
*lowercase letter formation(trace and write)
*beginning sound phonemic awareness (long/short vowel)
*sorting lowercase letters through multiple font type 
*writing words that begin with the letter sound

The students will cut, fold, and glue the pages into a composition notebook. This can be done as a whole group, small group, or center activity. Interactive notebooks make great portfolios and can be differentiated to meet the students needs by adding or removing activities. 

There are many benefits to using interactive notebooks in the primary grades. 
* Students are actively engaged in their learning.
* Students are encourage to follow directions.
* Students practice fine motor skills like cutting and gluing.
* Teachers can use this notebook as a portfolio of student work.
