FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “The Day After Halloween Creative Writing Activity”

by Tracee Orman
3rd - 10th Grade

Are your students still talking about Halloween? A little sluggish from candy overload?

Try this fun activity that lets them talk a little more about one of their favorite holidays, yet allows them to practice great critical and creative thinking skills.

You can use the writing prompt in conjunction with a literature or history unit. They'll have to tell about a character's or historical figure's night out trick-or-treating. It's fun and gets them writing. (And it's free!)

This is great for a bell-ringer, exit-slip, or journal-writing activity; or have them write even more and tell an entire story. I included several different printables. To save paper, you can project it and have them use their own journals or notebooks.
