FREE MATH LESSON - “Witchly Combinations”

by KinderKay
Kindergarten - 1st Grade

This is a fun Halloween game to practice beginning math concepts. There are 2 levels. In Level 1, students use Domino dot cards with number combinations from 1 - 6. Students pick a card, add the dots on the card, and cover the sum on their mat. Then they write the number combination on their recording sheet. Play continues until all numbers have been covered. This works best as an individual game, but can be adapted to partners.

In Level 2, students use 2 dice and record number combinations just as in Level 1.

K.OA.3 Decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1)
