Talk to Me cover
The two Language Arts activities in this post, Acting Out and Quote Journals: He Said…She Said, will untangle students from their Smart Phones, and will wire them into speaking, listening and writing.  After completing the work, they will be better prepared to interpret what people mean when they speak and to show how they speak by writing dialogue right.

Students will understand how word choice, tone, inflection and body language can cause a wide variety of emotions, as well as a whole gamut of reactions. Go to http://teachitwrite.blogspot.com/2013/04/talk-to-me.html  for more details on the activities Quote Journals: He Said…She Said The Teachers Notes page reveals the Show Me, Help Me, Let Me teaching philosophy that I follow in all of my lessons.
