MATHEMATICS LESSON - Same and Different Halloween Match-up

Check out these Halloween Match-up Activities!!!

Children will practice the same and different math skills with this Halloween matching game!  It’s a great math center sorting activity and the Halloween graphics can be used as story starters at the literacy center! Why do you think these are the same? What do you think is happening in the picture? Why?   {PreK, Kindergarten, 1st}

  • Pairs Activity - Place about 6 pairs of colored Halloween graphics cards face down on the table or floor. One student will turn up two cards. If the two cards turned up are different… turn them over again!  If they are the same, keep the card that matches up! Continue to play until all 6 pairs have been found. Who has the most pairs? Add more pairs as the children gain confidence in finding and matching cards.
  • Use the cards as story starters!  What? Tell me more! When? Why? Where?  How?  Tell a story or write it down!
