FREE "SPRING AND SUMMER THINGS" EASY-ART MONO-PRINT

Classroom -Visual Arts-Science-Language Arts

1st - 6th grades

by Art Action - Laurie Carpenter

This elementary art lesson plan provides the student with a fun, mono-printing experience related to the
"growing and crawling" seasons of spring and summer. The project also acts as a science or classroom project as it relates to the environment.

The experience teaches the children a basic art skill of printing, as it exposes them to an understanding of the meaning of "symmetry" as it is applied to nature.

Quiet seat work time is provided, as the students are able to spend time researching in various reference books(science) or reading spring stories(language arts), as they acquire knowledge of the appearance of the items they wish to use in their mono-print visual arts experience. Children can sketch numerous items for several days in preparation - of course, keeping in mind that the object must be symmetrical and a front view, for it to work out in the fold over print.

The lesson plan gives suggestions for an enjoyable motivation, preparation, and presents  a detailed step by step procedure to be followed.
