This lesson plan will provide the elementary student with a fun spring-summer art, language arts, 
and science experience.  

Group research, discussion, and sharing of past experiences is a necessary part of this lesson.  

Research books are suggested to coordinate with the PRINTED PATTERNS, with basic lesson
plan and directions.

The perfect motivation, if possible, is a walk in the woods or back yard, picking flowers. If this is not possible, then observing flowers in the grocery store, or flower and science books will provide the research. 

In the lesson plan, I also suggest various stories that will set the "spring mood"; the best are ones that the students are able to help read out loud.  Group interaction always adds to involvement and motivation!
