A Fresh Twist on Spring Poetry

Just a little teapot, and a fresh twist on three traditional poetry forms for grades 4-6!

All poetry forms (diamante, haiku, and cinquain) with templates and examples! All about appreciating the magic in the world around us and the magic in our friendships. Amazing video with real kids offering their deep thoughts on the topic!

The "Teapot" song included in this resource is all about stopping to appreciate the world around us, and appreciating the magic in our friendships. Three poetry forms, lyrics, posters, and prompting task cards are included here to encourage students to think and then write about the way they view life and friendship.

This is a perfect Spring poetry unit for 4th through 6th graders. Why teapots? Because we all tip over once in a while, even if it's just a little! The "Teapot" song lets us know that tipping over, or making a mistake is ok. Studio recorded by Lessia Bonn singing ever so sweetly, this song will inspire your students to think and write about their take on this idea. The video link to our own sweet students sharing their thoughts, we think, is equally inspirational!

Included in this resource:
Mp3 of “Teapot” song (studio recorded) c. 2015 Lessia Bonn for I am Bullyproof Music
Lyrics to accompany “Teapot” because your students will want to sing along!
A link to our “Teapot” video because our kids had some deep thoughts on the subject!
Teacher directions for thinking, writing, and creating poetry
3 Posters (COLOR and GRAYSCALE)
24 Discussion cards (COLOR and GRAYSCALE)
2 graphic organizers for use in notebooks

And... Just because you have read this far along, here's the video link!
